This service estimates the location and mass of sugarcane residues across NSW and contains information on bagasse and trash. The mass is expressed in dry tonnes at 0% MC and in tonnes at harvest 'As is' MC. This information was first collated for the Australian Biomass for Bioenergy Assessment (ABBA) project and is available for use on the National Map platform, to service the renewable energy sector. It is also available in the NSW BioSMART interactive spatial tool to enable a range of stakeholders including landholders/farmers, project developers, policy makers and academics the ability to determine the potential for using biomass in NSW for a range of applications. This data is updated and maintained by NSW Department of Primary Industries - Forestry.
